Resilience Building through
Community Supported Agriculture

Food is an embodiment of the relationship between the world around us and us as the individual. Food connects us to our community and to our place here on earth. Often times food can come from chemically dosed, laboratory derived, and corporately patented seeds. These un-natural types of foods continue to dominate the landscape. However, there is an alternative. When we grow, we use natural systems that work with soil microorganisms to restore biological diversity and sequester carbon in the soil. Our farm stewards the land with only naturally derived manures, composts, and open pollinated, free seeds.  Food grown in this way is less intensive and produces less waste, ecological damage, and human suffering, compared with conventional agribusiness.  We work the land to restore life, health and carbon into our soil ecosystems.

When you become a member of the H&K Farms Agroeco CSA you are directly supporting the restorative transition of lands in ecologically beneficial ways.  In return you receive a weekly share of food grown by H&K Farms, and a group of small interconnected farmers, who are committed to growing resilience in our local communities and earth through agriculture.   Additionally, your impact materializes by directly supporting the building of biodiversity, and resilience within the land, water, and community.

We feed the soil, the soil feeds the crops, and the crops nourish the community. You can expect a variety of nutritiously dense vegetables in your weekly CSA box, like this purple kohlrabi.

The complex flavor of an heirloom tomato is an embodiment of their rich genetic diversity from thousands of years of natural and careful seed saving. Stewarding diversity in space and time confers resilience to food systems. We do not grow GMO crops on our farm ever!
